Champagne beach is a beautiful soft white sandy beach. It is so named because cold fresh spring water bubbles up through the beach sand as you walk. Because it is a resort, they ask for payment to visit their beach. You can anchor at the next bay over and it’s a similar experience, but free. Up to you!
It is a large, well protected, sandy bay. The mountains surrounding the village are tall and block winds in their direction. The people are friendly and inviting. At this time they have a Tuesday fresh foods market. The resort is happy to taxi you for a reasonable price.
There is sea grass and turtles in the bay. Snorkeling is not very good because the warm/cold inversion makes it unclear to see, but swimming is great! If you’re looking for a cool off, the spring waters mix in with the warm sea water and it’s very refreshing.
Digicel is patchy here, but TVL works with an antenna on the top of the mountains.
